David Houghton, Owner/CEO, has worked as an environmental scientist and hazardous materials specialist on environmental remediation and geotechnical projects since 1990. He has successfully served a wide range of clients, including military, major oil companies, industrial, commercial, and residential. He has managed environmental investigations as well as monitoring and remedial programs at industrial sites, refineries, US Navy and Underground Storage Tank sites. He has been involved in technical instruction for more than 18 years, and is a dynamic professional speaker.

Owner and President
Steve Blackwell comes to us with a unique background. After graduating with top honors as a member of the US Army's elite Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team (EOD), Steve provided EOD services throughout the US, Mexico, and the Middle East. He worked with the US Secret Service, providing protection for former presidents George H.W. Bush and Ronald W. Reagan. Steve maintains his ratings as a Commercial Pilot, FAA Aircraft and Instrument Flight Instructor, as well as a helicopter pilot and Master SCUBA Instructor.

Chad Nichols has more than
28 years of experience in geological, hydrogeological,
construction engineering related to environmental studies. His recent
responsibilities include a variety of construction remediation
activities on military facilities throughout the western US. Base
closure contracts require demolitions, soil removal and disposal,
landfill methane control, asbestos and lead abatement. Site assessment
and characterization includes trenching, logging, drilling and
sampling, geological mapping, landslide mitigation, geological hazards,
fault studies, groundwater dewatering and aquifer characterization.
Projects include SF Zoo Infrastructure Masterplan, SF Groundwater
Masterplan, Muni Metro Turnback and Mokelumne Aquifer Recharge and
Storage feasibility study.
Mr. Nichols served as operations manager for a technology startup firm
and as a project coordinator for a prime contractor under the Navy's
CLEAN Environmental Contract (NW). Other project experience includes
SVE installations at NAS El Centro, NAS North Island and Treasure
Island, SF. Duties also included system O&M at Pt. Molate
(bioreactor) and SVEs at Hunters Point Shipyard. Mr. Nichols recently
completed a 22-acre/100,000 cy soil screening project at the Mare
Island Shipyard Marine Corps Firing Range.
