A+ Environmental Solutions, LLC

We are very sad to report that our founders, David and DeDe Houghton, along with their young sons Luke (12) and Ryan (10), were killed in a plane crash on July 7, 2011.

David and DeDe founded A+ Environmental Solutions, LLC (AES) in 1992. An experienced environmental scientist, geologist, hydrogeologist, and hazardous materials specialist, David served as our CEO. DeDe served as CFO, and managed the financial workings and daily administration of AES and their other business, Aqua Safaris SCUBA Center, LLC http://www.aquasafaris.com. DeDe and David were avid divers, instructors, and trainers. With their young sons in tow, they lead groups on diving and cultural expeditions all over the world.

The Houghton family believed in community service. All four were active in Boy Scouts, 4H, and Shared Adventures http://www.sharedadventures.org. They collected and delivered medical supplies and computers to the school they equipped in their beloved Mulege, Baja California. They organized and participated in beach cleanup events, and never missed an opportunity to participate in activities at the boys’ schools. David, DeDe, Luke, and Ryan were unfailingly open-minded, loving, and kind. As individuals and as a family, they served others. It was the way they lived.

To honor the Houghton family, AES is open and running. We have our good days and our bad ones, but we are moving forward. It's important to us at AES that we remember how David and DeDe loved their work. They knew how to find the balance between work and fun. "Let's play!" was David's rallying cry.
